![]() ![]() There’s a spot on the rear of the Duet 5’s Cover Stand to magnetically attach the USI pen for carrying it about. Lenovo says the pen is bundled with the Duet 5 in some regions, but it has not specified which. Stylus: The Duet 5 is compatible with the Lenovo USI Pen stylus ( $40), which is an optional accessory. And you’ll have to rely on Bluetooth if you want to use headphones due to the missing headphone jack. For Guys waiting for USI stylus for Lenovo Ideapad Duet Chromebook, Lenovo USI Pen is on the way It is manufactured by Sunwoda Electronics a member of USI. If top-grade sound is what you’re after I’m afraid the Duet 5 falls a bit short. The speakers sound a little more balanced when watching video, but they’re still well short of what I’d term “good.” To put it in perspective, my Apple iPad (which has a similar form factor and four speakers) sounded dramatically better, as did the Lenovo Flex 5i Chromebook (a more traditional laptop). Lower bass tones simply don’t come through enough. Music playback came across as a bit thin and trebly. How’s the quality? Well, it’s definitely loud, I can tell you that much. Speakers: Lenovo upgraded the Duet’s sound system by jumping from two to four speakers, each capable of pushing out 1W of power. That’s a bummer - but not necessarily a surprise for a device at this price point. You won’t find a fingerprint reader or face ID. Biometrics: The Duet 5 is without biometrics. The Duet 5 keeps pace with other ~$500 Chromebooks on the wireless front, but others might have it beat with additional USB-A, HDMI, or Thunderbolt ports. Moreover, both USB-C ports support Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.4. The Bluetooth 5.1 connection easily paired with my favorite headphones and other accessories such as mice and keyboards. The Wi-Fi worked really well and delivered excellent browsing speeds. To start, there’s Wi-Fi 6 on board, as well as Bluetooth 5.1. Connectivity: When it comes to connectivity, Lenovo dialed in the right specs.I wasn’t expecting the best from this affordable machine, but I was hoping for somewhat better, at least from the webcam, considering how important video calls have become over the last two years. For a webcam, it doesn’t handle low light very well and is grainy almost to a fault. The rear-facing camera is okay when it comes to capturing basic shots when you’re out and about, but the photos were never that sharp and often lacked dynamic range or appealing color. Cameras: The Duet 5 has two cameras: an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP user-facing webcam. In other words, it’ll stay secure and current until late 2029. Lenovo Flex 5 13.3 2-in-1 Touchscreen Chromebook. Updates/support: Lenovo has committed to providing eight years of Chrome updates for the Duet 5. Lenovo Flex 5 13.3 2-in-1 Touchscreen Chromebook Laptop - 10th Gen Out of Stock. On the whole, Chrome OS ran really well on the Duet 5. In terms of configuration, the IdeaPad Duet 5 2-in-1 notebook is equipped with a 12.4-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, 500 nits of brightness, and a 95 DCI-P3 color gamut. Lenovo didn’t add any special software to jazz up the experience. The Chromebook ships with the Google Play Store and runs Android apps without issue. It worked as quickly and as seamlessly as most other recent versions of Chrome OS. Chrome OS: The Lenovo Ideapad Duet 5 Chromebook was running Chrome OS 97 while we tested it.You also get 802.11ac Wi-Fi, but not the newer and faster 802.11ax standard. There is no headphone socket, which means you’ll need to use an adapter to use headphones, or use a Bluetooth wireless pair. Those are the only wired connections, though. ![]() That is convenient as it means you don’t have to stretch the power cable behind when you are using it, and you can use the second port for extra storage or other devices while charging. On each side of the case is a Type C USB 3.0 port, either of which can be used to connect the included 30W charger. No pen is included with this device, but £25/$33 gets you the basic Lenovo stylus that turns it into a pen-driven device. The touchpad is a decent size, and mouse navigation is baked into the Chrome OS, so you can do more familiar things like right-clicking or drag and drop. The keys are a decent size but have little travel or positive feel, and the whole keyboard bows when you press down. So it really needs a flat surface to lay on to be usable, unlike most standard laptops. This doesn’t really work on the lap, though, as the lack of a rigid connector between the keyboard and the body means that the keyboard tends to tilt up and not stay in place. The bottom half of the back panel also folds out to form a kickstand that allows you to set it on a table or desk. ![]()
